I'm rather surprised that Michael Bay is capable of making a decent film any longer, I thought that the Transformers series had ruined him and here he directs something that is actually entertaining. The action is actually watchable and I was able to tell what was happening. Now the characters are just a series a big bearded men that were interchangeable for me and Bay still has the habit of putting in both needlessly over patriotic shots and the necessary scenes of talking with the wifey and kids back home.
Film has echoes of Black Hawk Down and one of the characters even references that so at least Bay knows where he got some of the inspiration for this. I'd say that if that was a film that you enjoyed then this will also be a treat for you even if the characters don't grab you as well and the politics a bit more hard hitting then perhaps some will care for.

Too generic of a telling of a true great story to be that memorable of a film. This as well as standard movie "dramatic" moments for films like this with all the obliged finger wagging at the ignorance of the time.

Certainly not the fantastic video game movie many were hoping for but it certainly isn't the terrible film that the critics would suggest that it is. It is simply a fun fantasy film that doesn't ask too much of us. Yes the plot and characters aren't that in depth and the main human is an Aragorn clone but overall I enjoyed myself in the theater. I might wish that some of the characters made different choices in the third act but this is one of the few times where I simply do not understand the hate from critics.

Out of the Shadows is a step up from the first TNMT film from a couple years ago but it is still nothing to be excited about. There was too much idiocy for me to ignore, too much misuse of characters and too much absurdity of their actions. I suppose if you were a fan of the old 80s cartoon you might get a nostalgia high from this but if not its just Transformers lite and that is not a good thing at all. At least the Turtles play a more prominent role and irritants like Megan Fox and Will Arnett play lesser roles but their presence still grates on the nerves.

Brilliant. Civil War was a little shaky in the beginning but once the conflict between the characters starts boiling to the surface this film takes off big time. I only wish I felt more conflict in myself when it came to the two "sides" but I was Team Captain America all the way. :)
